In 2021 the conference will have a particular focus on how the sector has been affected by Covid. Where does it create new opportunities? Might it lead to for-profit being side-lined by the public sector?
We will also give digital health another good hard look. Is it really leading to productivity and outcome improvements? Or is there more hype than substance?
And we will be evaluating regions from the Middle East to the Nordic region and from Latin America to CEE.
As ever, there will be spotlights on the opportunities, dynamics, and business models in sectors as diverse as hospitals, assisted living, elderly care, and dentistry.
Expect a particular focus on fast-moving consolidation in the outpatient sector. And HBI's famous investment sessions provide a unique forum to look at the sector's financial prospects.

HBI 2020 highlights included a discussion that brought together the two largest global players in telehealth - Ping An of China and US giant Teladoc. Other sessions included one-on-one interviews with the CEOs of some of the largest private hospitals and nursing home groups outside the USA. Detailed panel discussions looked at sub-sectors and regions. And delegates enjoyed detailed analysis of M&A and the new climate as investors raced to buy into what is perceived to be one of the most stable sectors globally.
Our first confirmed speaker is the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, UK Secretary of State for Health from 2012 to 2018, which made him the longest-serving Health minister in Europe of the last decade. His insights into the governmental challenges and opportunities that health care poses, and his view of what the future holds, will be of enormous interest.
